FCD Programs and Services

Research has identified numerous factors shown to be effective in reducing levels of substance use and abuse and maintaining a healthy school climate. FCD's consulting services and teaching programs are built upon effective prevention strategies that:

Engage the whole community
Get parents involved
Address known risk factors and the reasons kids turn to drugs
Present accurate, up-to-date information
Enlist student participation
Support and encourage non-use
Identify the problem early
Create clear, consistent rules and consequences
Provide a means by which students who voluntarily seek help for themselves or others can do so without incurring disciplinary penalties.
