Post-Katrina New Orleans Work Particularly in the Post-Katrina environment, one of our concerns is the potential for use of alcohol and drugs by our students as coping mechanisms. Because the national statistics as well as local feedback indicate that students are experimenting... High School & Youth Trends 2007 Decreases or stability in abuse patterns were noted for most drugs from 2006 to 2007. Below is a link to the key findings, based on data from the 2007 MTF and, in some instances, from other recent MTF survey data. Where in the World is FCD? More than 30 years ago, FCD launched a pioneering approach to substance abuse prevention. Since then, we have worked with over a million students, at 800 schools, in more than 40 countries, on five continents. FCD Biennial Report During this past year - the celebration of our 30th anniversary - my travels took me to FCD client schools across America and around the world. Loyola High School of Los Angeles In its 6th year since coming to Loyola, the program is intended to teach students about the many effects of alcohol and other drugs and how to intervene appropriately when necessary. The four-day program involves surveys and student discussions... Bradford Students & Healthy Choices "Wild Sobriety" was the theme at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Friday as 36 students from Floyd C. Fretz Middle School and Bradford Area High School had a SALSA United training day in the University Room. Celebrating 30 Years of Success For 30 years, FCD Educational Services has been a leader in providing substance abuse programs in school systems. Now, the organization is celebrating 30 years of success in more than 39 states and in 35 countries. FCD Works with New Orleans Schools From the Times-Picayune, New Orleans LA: Local schools team up with Freedom from Chemical Dependency and Safe Teens New Orleans to share information on alcohol abuse and promote drug-free ways of having fun. FCD Biennial Report 02-04 As FCD approaches it's 30th year of service to schools around the world, we are humbled - and tremendously encouraged - by the abiding generosity of our donors and friends. It is literally true to say that we could not do what we do as well as we do... FCD Launches New Website FCD has recently launched a new website, designed to aid students, faculty, administrators, and parents in preventing substance abuse and promoting healthy life choices. Multi-Year Contract with Tri-Association FCD Educational Services has recently completed a multi-year contract with the Association of American Schools of Central America, Colombia, Caribbean, and Mexico through the Overseas Schools Advisory Council of the U. S. Department of State. New Cutting Edge Prevention Services FCD has recently introduced two new cutting-edge services for school substance abuse prevention efforts: Comprehensive Prevention Planning, and the FCD Student Attitude and Behavior Surveys. FCD Holds Grand Opening Celebration The recently purchased building will be known as the Donald F. Cutler Prevention Center to honor the organization's founder, who passed away in Spring 2002 at the age of 88. FCD Chosen for Catalogue for Philanthropy The Catalogue, conceived and supported by the Ellis L. Phillips Foundation with help from other foundations and corporations, profiles 80 of Massachusetts' outstanding cultural, environmental and human services groups.
